June New Arrivals - Doritos, Twizzlers, opaque gummy bears and updated 1:3 scale drinks!

Greeting Littlest Sweet Shoppers!

It's almost end of June but I think I managed to update the website with a few new items before we say hello to July. This month wasn't great for me. It's usually the time of year when I go away on holiday because the local pollen gives me serious hay-fever which leads to my asthma attacks. Honestly it's the only time of the year when I have difficulty breathing but the reason why I'm still stuck amongst the high pollen is because my bathroom is currently being renovated so we can't go away on holiday.

On the subject of renovation, my bathroom is next to my studio so it's been almost impossible to work with clay when there is a lot of dust floating around. Hence I haven't been able to sculpt anything new other than some commissions. This month was also an awful start to summer since we had only a few days of sunshine and most days were cold and cloudy which is why it was hard for me to take any pictures. I think I've explained before that miniatures are tricky to photograph (and I don't have any fancy cameras/equipment) so I rely on natural sunlight to capture all the details.

OK I'm now done venting my frustrations so here are some new items which have been listed on the website. First is a new packaged snack similar to Doritos. The packaged snacks (sealed, not to be opened) is now listed on the Etsy store. I made the nachos a while back but designed the packaging recently. The insides of our snacks packaging is lined with real aluminium foil so it looks even more real!

You can also order loose pieces of cheese nachos and an opened pack
New to our Sweets Boutique's pick'n mix selection is some cherry Twizzlers. They even have a slight 'flexibility' and similar texture like Twizzlers candy.

Next we have our popular Gummy Bears now available in opaque colours. Basically you can  now commission our Gummy Bears in ANY colour!

The next new arrival isn't new, but it comes in a new cup design and exclusive to 1:3 scale drinks. I choose this cup because I like the design plus it's thicker than the previous cups which adds durability.

Last but not least is something from our YouTube channel's latest miniature tutorial. It's part of a bigger release that I'm really hoping to debut soon which is full of dreamy pastel goodness. I thought I might as well list this one first. It's Yume Cream Pie and features a thick pastry crust with realistic cream filling in 3 colours.

That's all for today. I will be updating the blog again tomorrow with a small commission update and I'm currently completing several commissions and Etsy sales. I would really love to take on a bigger project but my family is visiting for 2 week in July so I won't be able to do much when they are here. Please follow me on social media for all the latest updates.

Bye!

Commission update: 1:3 scale packaged candy

Hello Littlest Sweet Shoppers

I know I'm lagging behind updates on this website. Any news will always appear via our social media channels first. To compile it all neatly into one post is not as straightforward but I will try my best to catch up next month.

Despite my lack of appearance in social media, I was still getting some small commissions which is all I can handle currently. A client was asking if our popular selection of packaged candy could be made in 1:3 scale. Since I designed the packaging, I said of course! And I made a pack of chocolate and a bar of Snickers for her Dolfie Dream.

It turned out so cute so I decided to scale up the others as well! I'm also happy that the client think they look so real. So now it's also available for other Littlest Sweet Shoppers to commission. They are listed in the 1/3 scale menu.

In other news, my Instagram channel was featured in American Miniaturist magazine June 2019. I think this is only my 3rd magazine feature and I'm truly honoured.

This June is the season when I am the weakest since I am allergic to a specific pollen which triggers my asthma. I am trying my best to debut the new Yume (pastel rainbow) miniature collection and finally finish my big 1:3 scale project. There will also be the new YouTube tutorial I keep talking about since last month so I'm hoping that I can upload it by this weekend. I'm also going to mix things up a little on the YouTube channel - it is a surprise! So come visit again in June for the new collection and I promise there will be more new miniatures.

Bye!

Commission update: 3 different jobs

Good evening Littlest Sweet Shoppers

Just a short one tonight - an update on some current commissions that were dispatched in September & October. It's been a busy month for me since I spent a week in the south of England with my in-laws so there was a lot to catch up with.

I had 4 small commissions with ongoing Etsy orders. As you know I only post custom requests here on the website. Etsy is more like an online shop where you can purchase ready made miniatures that we already have in stock. You can commission an order via this website (by submitting the order form) or even by messaging me through Etsy, Instagram and Facebook. All commissions will be billed via Paypal so you are also getting Paypal buyer protection.

The first commission is for 1:3 scale items. I made 2 bubble teas and 3 Littlest Sweet Shop snacks in the bigger 1:3 scale. The green bubble tea is supposed to be melon flavour. I hope the Littlest Sweet Shopper in America will enjoy all of these goodies.

Another order came from a Littlest Sweet Shopper from Germany. She was doing a bar diorama scene in 1:6 scale and wanted a bowl of crisps that you get for free at a bar. I suggested to make small vacuum formed bowls that was already used for our take-away salad. She also ordered enough crisps and cheese snacks to fill up each bowl. Hopefully now the diorama is finally complete!

Last but not least, an order for a new Littlest Sweet Shopper in America. She has been working on a German Christmas market stall and ordered a few of our German lebkuchen to display. She requested a custom Lebkuchenherzen with 'Omi' which means grandma in German. It's to honour her own Omi which I thought was very sweet. There were also newly made Elisenlebkuchen which are square and round shaped plain lebkuchen with almonds. Lebkuchen reminds me of Christmas so I will definitely be making more in the next update.

That's all for tonight. I know there wasn't a new product update for October since I was away for a week and busy with commissions/Etsy sales but there will definitely be one for November. I want to try to update new products around middle of the month like I used to rather than rush it before the month ends like a marathon race (another explanation why there wasn't any for October). This month new items will include even more candy, box of chocolates (prepping early for Valentine's Day), Littlest Fast Food Happy Meal, more German lebkuchen and possible new packaging items for Christmas. I just had a very minor surgery done a few days ago so I'm still recovering and feeling sorry for myself but I am still motivated to bring in new cute miniatures by next week. Thank you for visiting Littlest Sweet Shop and remember to come back again for the new updates.

Bye!

New arrivals for March: 1:3 scale Littlest Fast Food (commissioned)

Greetings Littlest Sweet Shoppers!

Here is a 1:3 scale commission update. A Smart Doll owner in America wanted the Littlest Fast Food miniature made for the doll so we scaled up the range to twice the original size. Since this is the first time that we made the Fast Food in 1:3 scale, it is also our new products for this month.
Commissioned 1:3 scale food for a Smart Doll
The 1:3 scale version is made almost identical to the original miniature version. We used polymer clay for the food so it is more durable and printed the packaging and boxes on a thicker paper.
Each food item comes loose in the boxes for more play value. The burger boxes are sold separately so you can always order just the boxes.
The hamburgers somehow look so much more edible in this scale, probably since it is double the size so you can actually see the detail of the glossy wet ketchup.
1:3 scale Littlest Fast Food burgers
Just like in the miniature version, you can order the food with bites taken off it. The client ordered the hamburger with a first bite. Check out the details of the bread and meat texture since it is so much clearer in this scale.

Chicken burger in 1:3 scale. A special cutter was 3D printed to cut out the shape of the bun

1:3 scale Apple Pies with packaging
Apple Pie with a first bite. The apple filling with apple sauce looks so yummy!
The 1:3 scale milkshakes come in big plastic cups so your dolls will have more to quench their thirst! The lid has been vacuum formed and hand-made to look like the real thing.

The fries and curly fries do not come fixed/glued to the box so your dolls can eat a piece at a time. We also vacuum formed a little plastic condiment tray so you can have them dipped in ketchup.
1:3 scale French Fries and Curly Fries
French fry dipped in Ketchup in our own handmade plastic tray
For those of you wondering about the size of 1:3 scale, here is a comparison between the different burger sizes. Please note that not all of our miniatures are available in other scales (we mainly focus on 1:6 scale) so do check the description on each item for the availability. For example the hamburger is not available in 1:12 scale but we can do a Cheese Burger in 1:12 since it doesn't have sesame seeds on the bun.
Burger size comparison
That is all the new items for March. All of the other new miniatures will be launched in April but it will be a good one consisting the updated 2018 sculpts for cupcakes and ice cream cones. There will also be new 1:12 scale cupcakes, new tableware, chocolates, groceries and so much more. In May I will be taking another 1 month vacation in Asia where I will learn how to make miniature Malaysian food and most probably spend most of my weeks chilling by a swimming pool. Me and my husband take a big holiday to Asia once a year and hopefully next year we will be going to Japan again for a month. Littlest Sweet Shop may be closed in May but Sculpey will be publishing my exclusive tutorials and blogs when we are on holiday. More information on being Sculpey's Blogger of the Month very soon.

April New Arrivals: 1/3 Scale Cookies, Chocolate, Taiyaki and more

Hello Littlest Sweet Shoppers!

We made so many new items this past month so we decided to split it up into 2 parts. The first part for today is the release of 1:3 scale food and next month in May we will debut the rest of the 1:6 scale miniatures.

Orders for 1:3 scale food makes up almost 15% of our business so we wanted to add some new items to the menu to give more variety for clients with 1:3 scale dolls such as Smart Doll, BJD, Dolfie Dream and more.
New food in 1:3 scale
First item is an updated Pretzel. This one is a salted pretzel made for a client with a new and improved formula. You can also order it plain or coated with any sauce (chocolate, strawberry) or even dipped in toppings!
1:3 scale Salted Pretzel
Next is for 1:3 scale dolls with a sweet tooth. These Chocolate Molded Swirls also come in 1:6 and 1:12 scale.

Taiyaki is a Japanese type of molded pastry filled with anko (red bean paste). Now there's a version for 1:4 scale (mini 1:3 scale Taiyaki)

Mini chocolate biscuits looks like small Bourbon biscuit. Another mini biscuit is the butter Danish biscuits also new to the 1:3 scale menu.

If your doll wants a biscuit with a bigger crunch, then try our new Cream sandwich biscuits which are 2 biscuits with a cream center. The biscuits can come in any flavour and so can the cream. Just choose your favourtite - chocolate biscuit with vanilla cream or biscuit with lemon cream?
1:3 scale Chocolate, vanilla and mint green biscuit creams
Strawberry, lemon and vanilla creamy center
There is also the new Liège waffles for a more substantial snacking. Comes in plain or one side coated in chocolate. Just like our miniature version, these waffles are a perfect 3D replica with waffle patterns on both sides.
1:3 scale Liège waffles
Last but not least, we are also offering our Litlest Sweet Shop groceries in 1:3 scale. Our illustrator came out with the designs for the boxes so we can also make them in any size we like.
Littlest Sweet Shop cereal and snack packaging in 1:3 scale. Commissioned by client
And that's not all! For every LSS Groceries which comes with loose pieces, it is also available in 1:3 scale
Littlest Sweet Shop groceries come in both English and Japanese copy. This 1:3 box version is completed with a bowl of cereal with milk by Littlest Sweet Shop. Commissioned by client
Close-up miniature cereal in tropical colours. Each piece has been textured to look like the real thing. White plastic bowl is handmade by us using vacuum forming technique
That wraps up all of our new 1:3 scale arrivals. Please stay tuned for the new miniature arrivals in May. I think we have more than 10 different types of new miniatures to debut so it is going to be a BIG one before Littlest Sweet Shop closes temporarily in June (whilst I am on holiday in Japan for the whole month).

Bye!
