Commission update

Hey Hey Littlest Sweet Shoppers

Just a quick news update for today. This is my most recent commission. It is a replica of my client's bespoke wedding cupcakes.

Original edible real life size cupcakes

I knew the small rose was going to be incredibly tiny in miniature so I was going to make a mould for it. However it had to be only a few millimetres in diameter so I ended up sculpting them. In the end, the rose was a mere 3mm wide! It's definitely the smallest rose I had ever sculpted.

Miniature replica

I also updated the cupcake mould for 1:6 scale cupcakes so each cupcake is only 1.2cm tall (for the tallest cupcake). I had fun making miniature replicas although it was definitely more challenging.

You can request any custom miniature sweets from us and we will always try our best to make a super scaled down version.

Happy weekend and see you again soon!

New Spring Arrivals

Happy Spring!

Here are the new Easter arrivals for 2015 available now in our Seasonal menu.

Spring / Easter selection at the Littlest Sweet Shop

It is hard to believe that Spring is here since we still get frosty mornings and some snow is still present in some (unlucky) areas in the UK! I still wear my thick winter coat when I'm out for walkies but the brightly coloured daffodils have blossomed everywhere in the village.

Easter can be a big event here in England. I decided to make a Simnel cake which is traditionally served on Easter since Medieval times.

It is a small fruitcake with 2 layers of yellow marzipan. The top part has been lightly toasted. The 11 decorative marzipan balls represent the twelve apostles, minus Judas.

These cupcakes are a classic for Easter. We made the nest using fine chocolate flakes and pastel sugar eggs.

Easter is also the time when children (and probably some adults) paint eggs. We coloured some eggs into lovely pastel colours and painted them. They are placed in this handmade bread basket (literally a basket made out of bread).

Kids will love our colourful Easter / Spring sugar cookies. Choose from the designs below in any cheery colour.

Butterfly, birch leaf, bird, tulip, rabbit, Easter egg, cross, flower, caterpillar
Our Spring jelly range have been expanded. This time we added a ribbon/bow and strawberry design for you to choose from.

There are also some new mini cakes now available in the Cakes menu. These petite cakes are not as hefty as a slice of cake so it is more suitable as an after-dinner dessert. You can commission them in pretty colours as well to brighten up a doll's tea party.

Mini cakes
Samples are shown in round and heart shapes however we also make them in squares.

Round mini cake with teal icing. Decorated with whipped cream and cherry on top
Heart shape mini cakes with pink icing. Decorated with chocolate curl and diamante

Littlest Sweet Shop's first magazine appearance is in the Dolls' House Magazine (March Issue)!

It's very exciting to see your creations in print! You should be able to purchase this magazine at your local newsagents (UK only).

That wraps it up for now. I have been sent a box of awesome Japanese sweets and treats to review so stick around for that mmmkay?

Bye!

Littlest Sweet Shop x Komikku

Hey there Littlest Sweet Shoppers!

I've been making some unique accessories for an anime specialist store called Komikku. They are all food themed and made specially for their shop.

Animal Doughnuts. Totoro and Duck

Komikku is located in Norwich, England on a busy high street area (near-ish John Lewis, opposite Evans Cycles and next to the snowboarding shop). I'm hoping that more people will get to see Littlest Sweet Shop miniatures up close.

They also have an online website and deliver to the UK. Make sure you stop by ^_^

Sailormoon Inner Senshi Chocolate cookie earrings. Gold plated. Extra bling on Usagi's ;)

A lot of my clients gave feedback on how the miniatures look good enough to eat! The marshmallows in the background were also made by Littlest Sweet Shop (1:1 scale marshmallow flumps).

Food themed accessories can look so yummy so it's great to finally have a storefront!!

I'm sure a lot of anime fans will love the Sailormoon and Totoro themed miniature food. I myself get very nostalgic when I was designing them. I had to research the Sailormoon ribbon colours since I read the manga when I was in high school (so long ago), and the drawings are mostly black and white XD

Various Ice cream necklaces

Animal Doughnut rings (adjustable)

I do plan on making a wide variety of items in the future but I'm also working hard to create more new miniatures for the sweet shop. Next month we will be making more cake, animal doughnuts and taco necklaces as well as macaron stud earrings. Make sure you stay tuned for the updates :D

Rainbow lollipop and mint cake slice necklaces. The jam filling on the cake has glitter on it - a unique feature for the accessories line

There are more reasons for you to buy Littlest Sweet Shop accessories for yourself or as a gift:

Every piece is a labour of love
Unique pieces that are never mass produced
Support your local artist
It's a work of (miniature) art
Low carbon footprint - produced and sold locally

Various fridge magnets (1/3 scale)

That's all for now. Come back next week to check out new arrivals in the Littlest Sweet Shop

Breakfast at Littlest Sweet Shop

Hey Hey Littlest Sweet Shoppers

Do your dolls fancy a big hearty breakfast in the morning? If the answer is YES, check out our all new Breakfast menu! We have moved the waffles and pancakes into this new menu as well so you have a nice selection for brekkie à la carte.

Select anything you would like from the menu to suit your hunger
The idea of an à la carte breakfast menu allows you to mix and match any fry-up items. For example, you could order stacked pancakes with a side of 4 streaky bacon drizzled with maple syrup or a full English breakfast. Baked beans, toast, omelette, French toast and cereal will be added into this menu in the upcoming months!

For today, our new breakfast food include:

Fried Egg (Sunny Side Up). These eggs look like the real thing and not fried to crisp (just nice :D). The top bit and yolk as you can see is still slightly runny and very slight crisping around the edges.

Fried Sausage / Bangers. Sausages come fresh from our own charcuterie

Fried Back Bacon. Also from our own charcuterie

Fried Streaky Bacon. Some people like back bacon, some prefer crispy streaky bacon. We have made options to satisfy most ;)

Fried Cocktail Sausages. Same wholesome sausages in mini size for cuteness.

Assemble any combination of yummy fry-ups for your own personalised plate of brekkie.

Our next new item is the TACO!

We offer 2 types of tacos, chicken and beef. The chicken taco consists of shredded chicken, salsa, lettuce and cheese while the beef taco consists of beef mince, sour cream, chopped tomatoes, lettuce and cheese

Chicken and beef taco
Tacos can be found in the Brunch menu and makes the perfect fast food snack.

Our tacos cram in a lot of yummy details. Simply irresistible
We have some new rashers in the charcuterie in our Deli menu. If you would like to stock up your fridge with raw bacon, look no further. We offer both back bacon and streaky bacon in our charcuterie.

Littlest Sweet Shop Charcuterie
You can order a single rasher or a few to stack up. This is the perfect prop for a breakfast preparation scene.
