Popcorn movie time!

Happy Sunday!

There are a few things to share with you today. Let's start with a new menu item - BUTTERED POPCORN! It is listed in the Sweets Boutique menu however there is no set price/minimum order. I managed to make a whole big bowl (1:6 scale sized that is) of buttered popcorn which took forever so I will be packaging them into smaller boxes with a better pricing structure.

It's obvious that the Puppen Haus is still a work in progress (I have to admit, I haven't even started!). Sadie has no choice but to live in the Littlest Sweet Shop diorama while waiting but I gave her some new IKEA furniture. This set is called HUSET and it is basically miniaturised IKEA products to fit 1:8 scale. Sadie seems to fit quite comfortably with this set but it's more of a temporary set-up before I build wooden furniture for the Puppen Haus.

If you are commissioning anything from the Littlest Sweet Shop, and it happens to be a gift for someone else - make sure you get it gift wrap for only £1. Our gift box is a cute miniature panettone box that should fit most miniatures (1/3 and 1/6 scales).

Doll haberdashery. I'm currently obsessed about sewing dresses for Sadie that I actually made miniature buttons because I can't seem to find any button smaller than 6mm in the market.

Lastly, the new dress I made for Sadie. At first, I thought this dress was easy to make, but I ended up spending 3 days doing it! I'm just glad it is completed because the whole ensemble (including the teal ribbon from Hobbycraft) matches her special custom eyes.

More 1:12 scale doughnuts!

Hi again,

I have to admit, it's been a slow week in my Littlest kitchen. The Puppen Haus didn't survive the long trip from across the Atlantic so I have been spending a lot of time mending and repairing parts. I'm also waiting for a more detailed plan-book for it so it will be a few weeks until I receive that. Until then, I don't really want to assemble it yet. It's a very big, very expensive project so it's actually better that I take my time with it.

I have also been making another new dress for Sadie. I'm quite terrible at sewing so it takes me longer to hand-make a dress for a doll. Not to mention, the instructions are all in Japanese and I don't understand Japanese (I know a few words from watching a lot of anime and reading mangas growing up, but nothing helpful in technical sewing instructions).

So anyway, I thought I would show you more photos of another commission I did in 1/12 scale. Strawberry jam doughnuts covered in sugar. It's SO tiny!

Unfortunately I'm still just using a semi-automatic camera that doesn't help me capture the finer details on this 1/12 scale model. The strawberry jam even has tiny bits of seeds in it! I added more 'jam' after taking these photos since I felt that the doughnut must look like it's been over-filled with too much 'jam'. Worked a treat since my client loved it!

I also found more photos from my other commission with the 1:12 scale glazed doughnuts. They appear more clearly in these photos.

Not suitable for Vegans

Hello again!

I hope you had a nice weekend. I had to work all weekend since I'm off on a little holiday from Monday to Friday next week. If I don't do any crafts for just a few days, I can't feel calm and these voices in my head (ideas?) keep telling me to just make something.

Before going on my holiday, I managed to sew a new dress for Sadie, finished up another 1:12 scale commission, sorted my new Puppen Haus parts and now I'm updating this blog when I'm actually supposed to be packing! I'm quite knackered today so this is a short one with pictures.

It's actually fun making savoury food for a change. These are actually my first attempt and I'm really happy how they turned out! The buns are made from the special light polymer clay which gives it a more realistic feel and texture.

A little about the dress I made for Sadie:

The perfect vintage summer dress for Blythe dolls!

Sadie is wearing a dress that was handmade using Laura Ashley 'Strawberry' vintage fabric from 1980. I even made her the red sandals and rainbow brooch. It's a simple dress but she is looking sooooo much more sophisticated! I'm definitely getting into sewing now and Sadie can expect more new outfits! The new Puppen Haus will have a big built-in wardrobe for her so I will really need to make more soon.
